Storyboard

A sequential visual plan depicting scenes or interactions ahead of animation, video, or interface production.

In practice

A storyboard is a sequence of sketches, much like a comic strip, that plans what happens frame by frame before animation, video or interface work is produced. Each panel shows a key moment, with notes on action, timing or sound. A storyboard for a thirty-second app advertisement might have twelve panels; for an interface, it might show a person at each step of booking a taxi.

Often confused with Wireframe

A storyboard shows a sequence of moments over time; a wireframe shows the structure of a single screen or page.

Try this

Sketch a six-panel storyboard of making a cup of tea, with a short caption under each panel.
