Mind Map
A visual diagram used to organize ideas, concepts, and the relationships between them.
In practice
A mind map is a diagram that starts from a central idea and branches out into related ideas, sub-ideas and the links between them. Designers use one at the start of a project to explore a theme quickly and find unexpected angles. For a tea brand, the central word tea might branch into ritual, steam, leaves and morning, each branch suggesting different images and names.
Often confused with Moodboard
A mind map organizes ideas and their connections, usually in words; a moodboard collects visual references to show an intended style and mood.
Try this
Write one project word in the middle of a sheet and branch outward for ten minutes without judging any idea.
