Resentment
Anger that has moved from a single episode into a lasting disposition, usually directed at a specific person with a sense of accumulated unfairness.
How it shows up
Resentment builds when grievances are not resolved: unequal workloads at home, a slight never acknowledged, a pattern of being taken for granted. It often shows up as a running mental tally, coldness, or replaying old scenes. It can keep alive a sense that something unfair needs addressing. What sets it apart is its persistence; it is anger that has become a disposition, often toward one particular person.
How it differs from Anger
Anger often burns at a single episode; resentment is anger that has settled into a lasting disposition built from accumulated unfairness.
